Utility 02 / Ride fueling

A plan you can carry.

Start with duration and how hard the ride feels. No FTP needed. Add your fluid assumption for bottles and refills—not a forced drinking schedule.

01

Ride and effort

Planning mode

Advanced adds optional power, a practiced carbohydrate target and a measured fluid-balance scenario. Hidden advanced values never affect Simple.

Use a limit you tolerate in training. The duration curve is a planning convention, not a measurement of your minimum needs.

02

Fluid and drink mix

Your carrying assumption takes precedence. Blank leaves fluid unavailable unless you enter measured sweat.
Condition-specific. If planned fluid is blank, suggests 75% of this measurement, up to the 1.2 L/h app bound; no lower floor.
How to measure sweat rate

(Pre-ride mass − post-ride mass in kg + fluid drunk in L − urine in L) / hours. Use dry body mass on the same scale in comparable conditions; approximate 1 kg/L. Food and other non-sweat changes matter on longer rides.

Editable drink-mix convention, not a universal ACSM rule. Use a measured/product value if known. Intake does not match all sweat losses or prevent hyponatremia.
Your products and bottles

Defaults are examples. Use carbohydrate per serving from your packaging. Bottle refills mean individual bottles replenished, not stops.
